Kingsman: The Secret Service was indeed one of the surprise hits of 2015. The film adaptation based on Mark Millar’s and Dave Gibbon’s graphic novel “ The Secret Service”  which pays homage to  many elements of an old-school James Bond film through tuxedos , gadgets , sex and violence was critical and commercial success as it drew in  $400 million worldwide. the original  was directed of Matthew Vaughn of Kick-Ass  and X-Men: First Class fame and starred Taron Egerton , Mark Strong and Colin Firth and it was a rip- roaring good time. I would even argue that it was more Bond-like than Daniel Craig’s turn as Bond.

In this industry, great success means sequels. the sequel titled Kingsman: The Golden Circle is scheduled to be released  next summer, with Vaughn and Jane Goldman returning as Director and writer respectively.  Egerton and Strong are set to return with new cast members  Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Channing Tatum , Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore  who is set to play the villain of the piece.  Goldman  recently spoke about the upcoming sequel in an interview with Collider as part of the press tour to promote Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children which she also wrote. She said:

”  It’s more crazy than the first one , if such thing is possible, it’s pretty crazy…. We’re very fortunate to have Julianne Moore playing the villain, and she’s incredible….. I think people who enjoyed the first one won’t be disappointed. It’s not about trying to do something more shocking, or more out there, it’s about hopefully that freshness and surprise to action scenes, so they don’t go in the direction you think they’re going in”

Goldman isn’t the only one who believes that the sequel is crazier. Taron Egerton who plays the main protagonist  Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin simply said:

” Its great man . We just finished. It’s going to blow everyone away ”

Kingsman: The Golden Circle arrives in theaters on June 17th 2017.
