JOHN WILLIAMS WILL NOT SCORE STAR WARS: ROUGUE ONE

Ever since George Lucas’s Star Wars became a cultural phenomenon in 1977, the films  soundtrack has always been composed by  the Legendary Composer , John Williams. Williams has composed the films score from A New Hope to the most recent film, The Force Awakens.  Williams score for  The Force Awakens last year earned him his 50th Oscar nomination. A reason why Williams will not be scoring this years Rouge One : A Star Wars Story is due to health problems , He has assured fans that he will return for next years Star Wars : Episode VIII.

 

Michael Giacchino has now been reported to be the new composer of Rogue One. The switch came as a result of the recent reshoots. Fret not long time Star Wars fans Giacchino is a very accomplished composer and his music has touched shows like J.J. Abram’s Lost and all the three of Abram’s Star Trek movies . He has also composed a few Pixar movies including the likes of The Incredibles , Ratatouille and Up ( he won an academy award for it) . He recently composed the soundtrack for hit Disney film Zootopia.  Giacchino is a long time star wars fan and won’t want to tarnish its legendary soundtrack. Rogue One: A Star War Story is set to be released in theaters on December 16 2016.
