The DCEU may not have  gotten the bright start many people will have expected through the divisive Man of Steel , the much maligned Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the somewhat passable Suicide Squad. With that said, many believe that one of  the best aspects of these movies is without a doubt Ben Affleck’s interpretation of the Dark Knight. With Affleck set to return as the caped crusader in the upcoming Justice League movie and his solo movie titled  The Batman we can’t wait to see what more Affleck can do after redeeming himself for his turn as  DareDevil in early 2000’s.

It’s not only the fans who are sharing this same sentiment but his co-stars as well. Academy Award winner and prolific voice-actor J.K. Simmons who was recently cast as Batman’s ally Commissioner Gordon recently expressed his excitement to be working with the actor and director again. In an interview with Yahoo ! Movies whilst promoting his current movie , The Accountant which both actors are featured in , Simmons said:

” I’m really excited to be working with Ben and , in the future, to be working with Ben on both sides of the camera. He is such a you know, not just a great actor , but a moviemaker. And he knows, certainly much more than I do, I mean , we’ve had this conversation. He loves writing and producing and directing and being that , and loves going  back and forth between that and acting…… I myself am so lazy that all i want to do is be the guy who does the work and then goes and sits in his trailer and waits’ till they call him to go do some more work ”

I can’t wait to see this movie knowing full well that Ben Affleck is the director in the Batman’s solo movie.  With credentials that includes Argo and The Town, I can’t help but get excited to see how this movie will turnout. J.K. Simmons turn as Commissioner Gordon won’t be his first foray into the world of comic books as he is fondly remembered for his performance as Peter Parker’s quick talking boss J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. With his acting chops and ridiculous range I can’t wait to see his take on Gotham’s straight cop. J.K. Simmons and Ben Affleck are both set to appear in Justice League which is set for a November 17 2017 release date and The Batman which currently has no scheduled release date.
