EDDIE MURPHY IS KEEN TO DO A FUNNY SUPERHERO MOVIE

Superhero films are without a doubt this generation’s western. This year alone we have seen at least 5 movies between Marvel and DC and other comic book franchises outside the big two with a 6th  about to be released (Doctor Strange) .  As the genre explodes in popularity and continues to prove that it is a profitable venture we are now seeing big stars who once thought this genre was beneath them take part  in the fun. Who would have thought  Benedict Cumberbatch would play Dr. Strange in his upcoming solo movie. no would have thought Ben Affleck would return into the superhero world  as the Batman  after his disaterous outing as Dare Devil. Comedians are now getting into the fun as we have already seen Paul Rudd portray the Ant-Man and  Ryan Reynolds play the 4th-wall breaking Deadpool. So its not really a surprise that someone like Eddie Murphy would be interested in doing a superhero flick. He told Mashable in an interview :

” I’m kind of long in the tooth to fly in in a cape now, so I’d have to be like the voice of reason or somebody. “Don’t do that, super-fellow! Or we need such-and-such.” I would do a superhero movie if it was funny and we were making fun of superhero movies and I figured out how to do something funny. But even I don’t buy me flying in with a cape on and you know, fucking everybody up, having lasers shoot out.”

If Eddie Murphy is really serious about this claim then he should put his hand up for a Marvel movie as they tend to blend in elements of humour quite well into their scripts. Maybe he could make an appearance the highly anticpated Deadpool 2 , Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 or the upcoming Ant-man and Wasp movie. What do you think about Eddie Murphy being in a superhero movie ?
